Editor's note: Ryan Chiappe has been located and is no longer considered at large.

A man well known to the police and courts is at large.

Prince George RCMP issued a wanted bulletin Wednesday for Ryan Timothy Chiappe after he failed to appear in court last week to answer to two counts of possessing a firearm contrary to an order from an alleged January 13 incident.

Chiappe is described as 44 years old, 178 cm (5’10) tall and weighing 86 kg (190 lbs) with brown hair, blue eyes and tattoos of the word "Braydon" and a samurai on his upper left arm, a rose on his right hand, the words "strength," "honour" and "fortune favours the brave" on his right arm and a cros and scull and the word "Chiappe" on his right forearm.

In 2015, he was sentenced to two years probation for possessing stolen property stemming from a December 2014 arrest, after police pulled him over and found the allegedly stolen dog in his vehicle.

RCMP then executed a search warrant on a Minotti Drive home associated with Chiappe and found two stolen motor bikes.

And in 2017, he was sentenced to 30 days in jail on drug-related convictions.

At one time a noted mixed martial arts fighter, Chiappe is considered violent and should not be approached, RCMP warn.

Instead, anyone who see him is asked to contact RCMP immediately.

Anyone with information on where Chiappe may be is asked to call the detachment at 250-561-3300.

Tips can also be left anonymously at Northern B.c. Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477 or www.northernbccrimestoppers.ca (English only). You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.
