Prince George's mayor is using an iconic Canadian item to remind residents about social distancing.

"It's about avoiding large gatherings," he says in a video from the city.

"It's about making sure that you're in a safe spot and it's about distancing you and people that you're walking with or talking to."

The required spacing is two metres or six feet.

"Be kind, be calm and be safe," Hall adds.

"Remember that we're thinking of you every day and know that the services provided in the community are at your disposal."
