To help vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prestige Treasure Cove Hotel and the Grand Trunk Tavern Oyster Bar and Grill are launching a grocery delivery service.

“Buying groceries is difficult right now for many, and we want to play a proactive role in helping our community through this crisis,” says General Manager Conor Bull in a news release.

“That is why we will be offering a temporary grocery delivery service for the people of Prince George. This program will allow guests to order staple groceries through our business’ suppliers. There will be food, sundries, beer and wine available.”

There will be no markup on food as customers will pay what the hotel pays its suppliers.

“The purpose of this program is not to profit from a crisis but to facilitate social distancing and provide aid for our more vulnerable communities in Prince George,” says Bull.

So, here's how it works!

The hotel’s order guide is currently limited, but it can bring in most other products by request, so long as they can be purchased through regular suppliers.

Residents will just have to submit a product request and someone will contact you shortly to confirm its availability before processing payment.

There is a minimum order of $50, and a $10 delivery fee to cover expenses. The deliveries are contactless; you pay via credit card when placing your order, and you will be contacted when it is on its way to your doorstep. Payment options may expand in the future depending on demand.

Deliveries will have a two- to three-day turnaround time, as the hotel says it will be ordering the products from suppliers as they are requested.

If the program is popular enough to justify on-hand inventory, the hotel says turnaround for some products will reduce.

Orders must be submitted by 9 a.m. to ensure they are included in the next purchase order.

Food purchase totals must also be higher than alcohol purchase totals for each order.

To order, you;re asked to contact the Prestige Treasure Cove Hotel and the Grand Trunk Tavern Oyster Bar and Grill via email (princegeorgechef@prestigehotels.ca) or by phone at 250-614-9111.
