The Prince George Cougars Mega 50/50 to be drawn Saturday night will fund specialized hospital equipment through the partnership between the local hockey team and the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

The equipment, called the Philips EPIQ Elite Diagnostic Ultrasound System, will see better outcomes for patient treatment and care that could ultimately save patients from surgery or being sent to the Lower Mainland for treatment.

Features of the Philips EPIQ Elite Diagnostic Ultrasound System include:

-The wait time for procedures will be greatly reduced.

- There will be less risk of infection and complications.

- Patients will have shorter hospital stays as the new ultrasound machine will help eliminate the need for invasive surgery in many cases.

The Diagnostic Ultrasound system will be life changing for so many residents of Northern BC.

Patients could avoid major surgeries and operating room wait times because of UHNBC’s first radiology intervention suite, that includes the best equipment for patient care in the Northern Health region.

Every penny from purchasing a Mega 50/50 ticket for the Prince George Cougars last home game of the season stays right here in Prince George supporting area residents.

The draw takes place Saturday, March 23 during the Cougars Retro Night game presented by Indigenous Policing Services where the Cougars take on the Kamloops Blazers at CN Centre.

The minimum jackpot is $50,000. Online tickets are on sale now at pgcougarsraffle.5050tickets
