Le Circle des Canadiens Français de Prince George is one of six francophone non-profits getting funding from the BC Government’s provincial fund for French language services for various initiatives in 2025, a Tuesday, Aug. 26 news release said.
The organization is getting $60,000 to offer basic digital skills training to francophones who have encountered barriers to entering the job market, especially adults from under-represented groups.
The circle’s website says it is a non-profit founded in 1960 to organize cultural and education events for the community, help create new French services, promote the French language, culture, products and services and help new arrivals to Prince George integrate into the community.

- La Boussole Centre Communautaire Francophone in Vancouver ($24,230 for mental health programming),
- Alliance Française Vancouver ($33,828 for artistic and cultural programming),
- Association Francophone des Kootenays Ouest in Nelson ($22,000 to develop and interactive digital directory of services and other information),

In the government’s media release, Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs Adrian Dix said this year’s recipients highlight the creativity of francophones in the province.
"I'm especially proud that this funding is supporting projects not only in major centres, but also in communities like Prince George, as well as those in the West Kootenays,” Dix said.
“These initiatives help ensure that francophones in these regions can continue to celebrate their culture and identity, and strengthen the fabric of vibrant, inclusive communities across the province."
