An investigation is still ongoing as Prince George RCMP arrested two men this afternoon (Aug. 14) after trying to stop a vehicle associated with an outstanding warrant.

According to police, a 42-year-old and 31-year-old were taken into custody after 12 p.m. today after attempting to flee and colliding later on with another vehicle in the downtown core.

The Street Crew Unit executed a traffic stop along Victoria Street, near its intersection of 15th Avenue, but the driver raced north along the major strip and officers decided not to pursue the vehicle, which was linked to the person with the aforementioned arrest warrant.

However, moments after, reports of a two-vehicle collision came in, which included the suspect vehicle, at Eighth Avenue and Vancouver Street.

The occupant of the other vehicle involved in the incident was taken to hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to RCMP.

The driver then fled on foot and hopped into another vehicle with another male driver.

Mounties stopped the second vehicle at Victoria Street and Third Avenue and both occupants were arrested on scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents, or have more information, is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go onlnie to www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca.
