Five men, one woman arrested during firearms investigation in Prince George

Five men and one woman are in custody after a firearms incident early this morning (Aug. 14). 

Cpl. Craig Douglass says at roughly 4 a.m. this morning, Prince George RCMP received a firearms-related reported at a home on the 2600-block Oak Street

Officers arrived at the scene and secured the area in the VLA.

Douglass says the North District RCMP Emergency Response Team was also called in to help. 

Those living nearby were spoken to immediately and advised of the situation. 

At approximately 11 a.m., all six suspects in the residence were taken into custody while Mounties seized an AK-47 type weapon. 

The investigation is ongoing and is in its early stages. Douglass says updates will become available when they develop.
