Two men well known to police are in custody and are facing several charges following the seizure of drugs, cash and a shotgun by Prince George RCMP.
Justin Edward Pawluck and Alan Troy Baker, both 32 years old, were arrested last Thursday evening as part of a drug trafficking investigation by the detachment's street crew unit, RCMP said in a press release.
They were apprehended in a parking lot near 15th Avenue and Central Street West and a search of the two and of two vehicles linked to them yielded significant amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and cash.
Evidence at that scene provided the basis for a search warrant on a Hopkins Road home where more evidence of drug trafficking was found, as was a loaded 12-guage shotgun, and within easy access of two of the three children who live there, RCMP said.
Pawluck faces two counts of trafficking and four firearms-related charges and Baker faces three counts of trafficking and one count of driving while disqualified.
Both appeared in court on Monday and remain in custody at least until the next scheduled appearance next Wednesday.
Two others were also arrested. A 19-year-old female was released on a promise to appear and faces the possibility of drug charges being approved at a later date. A 20-year-old female was released without charge.
In September 2013, Pawluck was sentenced to 18 months in jail for trafficking in cocaine.
Earlier this month, Baker was sentenced to one year probation for assault causing bodily harm from a November 2014 incident. Baker had remained in custody since his arrest a month later.
