More than $6,000 was raised for Special Olympics B.C. when a Prince George Law Enforcement Torch Run was held Thursday afternoon.
More than 150 people either participated in the 3.5-km walk or run that started and ended at the Prince George RCMP detachment on Victoria Street or attended the post-event celebration that featured a barbecue and raffle.
"Numerous law enforcement agencies and RCMP Detachments have been doing this for many years, and now that we have been a part of this event and experienced the overwhelming community support and appreciation of the athletes, I look forward to continuing this event for years to come," said Prince George RCMP Supt. Warren Brown.
