Schedule for 2026 council meetings approved

Prince George city council will hold 21 regular meetings, two budget meetings and a post-election inaugural meeting in 2026

With more than five months left to go in 2025, Prince George city council approved its schedule of meetings for 2026 at its Monday, July 28 meeting.

Regular council meetings will be held on Mondays, except where noted:

  • March 9
  • March 23
  • April 6
  • April 20
  • May 11
  • May 18
  • June 8
  • June 22
  • July 6
  • July 20
  • Aug. 17
  • Aug. 31
  • Wednesday, Sept. 9
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23
  • Oct. 5
  • Nov. 16
  • Nov. 30
  • Dec. 14

Council’s two budget meeting are scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 28.

The next municipal election is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17. The inaugural council meeting for the new mayor and council is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 2.

Coun. Ron Polillo introduced a motion to delay the second meeting in September from Monday the 21st to Wednesday the 23rd to allow for more time after the end of the Union of BC Municipalities annual convention in Vancouver held the previous week.

It passed, with only Coun. Kyle Sampson voting against. The overall schedule was approved unanimously.
