Prince George RCMP have arrested a 16-year-old youth following a string of break and enters Saturday morning along Ross Crescent.

The trouble began at about 4:35 a.m. when RCMP received reports from two homes - one from a resident who awoke to the sounds of a window opening and someone running away and another from a resident woken by a barking dog.

Less than an hour later, general duty officers with the help of a tracking dog and handler located the youth allegedly attempting to steal a bicycle from another Ross Crescent home.

More allegedly-stolen property was found on the youth, who was arrested without incident.

At 8 a.m., RCMP received another call from a Ross Crescent home, this time from someone who discovered a lap top computer, liquor and a suitcase had gone missing.

All the items turned out to match those the youth was carrying at the time he was apprehended, RCMP said.

The name of the youth, who is originally from another northern B.C. community, will not be released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
