A man found behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck has been sentenced to a further 81 days in jail.
Gordon Wilfred Pagens, 27, was issued the term on Oct. 21. He had remained in custody since Sept. 6, when an off-duty RCMP officer recognized a stolen Chevrolet pick-up being driven near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Carney Street.
A short time later, on-duty officers converged on the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 97 and 15th Avenue and the lone occupant was apprehend without incident.
The pickup had been reported stolen from a Fort Street address at about 5 a.m. the same day.
Pagens has an extensive record for property crimes.
