The Prince George Council of Seniors needs some volunteers in 2016:
Volunteers are needed for the Better At Home program, who visit isolated seniors in the community. A minimum of one hour per week is required to have a friendly chat, play games or go for a short walk. To volunteer call Amita at 250-564-5888.
Volunteers are needed to be Elderberry, the Council of Seniors mascot. Volunteers must be in good health, not claustrophobic and able to stand the heat as it's hot inside all that fur. The mascot attends mostly daytime events.
Volunteers are needed to accompany the mascot during public events.
Volunteers are needed for the Friendly Phone Calls program.
Volunteers will make phone calls to isolated seniors for friendly chats.
Volunteers are need for regular Monday morning shifts and on an on-call basis.
Volunteers are needed in the front office to answer telephone calls and greet clients. Regular afternoon shifts once per week are needed.
