Prince George RCMP arrested four people for mischief over the Halloween weekend, after they were caught throwing rocks from a rooftop into a nearby crowd, police said.
In total, 37 people were arrested over the weekend for offences including causing a disturbance, being intoxicated in a public place and assault.
“The partying and celebrations stretched through the weekend this year, with police responding to an increase of six per cent more files this weekend over the previous weekends in October,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said. “Prince George RCMP frontline police officers usually respond to an average of 140 calls for service on Halloween day itself, and this year was close with 113 calls for service, which is fairly typical for a Monday.”
October marks the beginning of the holiday season and Prince George RCMP is encouraging residents to plan a safe and sober ride home from upcoming Christmas and New Year’s celebration.
