Police are on the hunt for a suspect after a liquor store was held up Tuesday night.
According to the RCMP, a man entered the BX Pub store near Carney Street and Fifth Avenue around 9:15 p.m. wearing a mask and demanding cash.
A store employee co-operated and the suspect fled on foot, taking with him a small amount of cash, cigarettes and beer. The employee wasn't hurt and no weapons were seen.
Multiple officers and a police service dog team scanned the area and found a 42-year-old man well known to police nearby.
"The investigation found that the male was in the business at the time of robbery, however at this time; it does not appear that he was responsible for the robbery," said an RCMP statement. The man was arrested on outstanding warrants and held in custody until a scheduled Wednesday court appearance.
Police are still trying to identify the suspect, who is describe as a standing five-foot-10, with a medium build. He was wearing black pants, a black jacket and "human-looking" mask while carrying black backpack.
