A third legal cannabis store could be coming down the pipe in Prince George.

If you walk past 421 George St. downtown across from the Ramada Hotel, you'll see a Cannabis License Application sign in the window, numbered CN000002.

The purpose is to facilitate the issuance of a cannabis retail license to Grasshopper Inc. for Commonwealth Campus Corporation Inc. NO. BC087533.

Owner and Director Joe Postnikoff of Grasshopper Retail Inc. says they identified the location back in December of 2017 and have secured, while also paying a lease since Aug. 1, 2018.

"We have a detailed powerpoint presentation we’ll be submitting to the public, city council and the mayor in regards to all aspects of our business which includes business concept, location, store/floor plan, interior/exterior renovations, safety, security, product," Pstnikoff tells PrinceGeorgeMatters. "This powerpoint will be available to the public once the City Council Agenda is published next week."

As for the location and its surroundings, Pstnikoff says they've received 11 letters in support from local businesses in the area. He also adds they have listened to city administration's comments and have agreed to move forward with a temporary use permit, which he says city administration is in support of versus full rezoning.

The public hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 8 in the council chambers at city hall at 7 p.m.

Postnikoff is also inviting anyone with questions or wanting to know more about them prior to the April 8 meeting, to email them at info@grasshopperretail.ca.
