The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is on the hunt for a new chief financial officer.
General manager of financial services Diane Hiscock is leaving her position and northern B.C. for Vancouver Island.
During the Aug. 15 board of directors meeting, chair Art Kaehn led a show of thanks for Hiscock's nearly 20 years of service.
"Amazingly, the books have always been balanced and we've never run a deficit," Kaehn said.
"It's been a great place to work," said Hiscock, who added she is looking forward to spending time on the island with family.
As chief administrative officer, Jim Martin will cover Hiscock's position, which will be vacant effective Sept. 6, until a replacement is found.
The job is already posted using "normal channels" in local government, said Martin, noting he expects the position to take three to four months to fill.
