The route the Olympic torch will take through Quesnel on Jan. 29 has been set.

It will begin in South Quesnel at 11:24 a.m., where it travels north on Highway 97. It makes its way to Alex Fraser Park by 11:55 a.m. and then travels through Johnston subdivision before travelling over the Moffat Bridge into West Quesnel.

The relay will visit both business and residential areas of West Quesnel before crossing the Fraser River Footbridge. It is then carried up Reid Street to the Spirit Square at 1:05 p.m., where the torch relay celebration occurs.

After the celebration, at 1:35 p.m. the torch travels through the downtown core and North Quesnel before making its way north on Highway 97, wrapping up the run at 2:43 p.m.

If you want to watch the Torch as it travels through the community, make sure you stand on the right side of the road in the direction of the torch's travel for best viewing.

For example, as the Torch travels north along Kinchant Street, make sure you're on the east side (the same side as the Royal Canadian Legion).
