Dollarama is now open in the Hart Mall where Hart Home Essentials used to be.
In April 2024 Hart Home Essentials Ltd., a locally owned store, announced they were closing due to circumstances beyond their control. Their last day of business was June 15, 2024.
More than a year later a dollar store has taken its place.
On the Hart Community Facebook page the posts talking about the Dollarama opening its doors during the long weekend are very positive with Andrea Simmons, an administrator of the Hart Community Facebook page, saying ‘Staff was very friendly and the store is very nicely organized. This is a great store to have on the Hart.’
Others commented about the wide aisles, how brightly lit and well organized the store is and that makes it easy to find items. Others say the store is well stocked and tidy.
Dollarama is in the Hart Mall, 3789 Austin Rd W. Hours are Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There are three other locations of the Canadian discount chain in Prince George. One is at Spruceland Mall, one is at Pine Centre Mall and the third is on Southridge Avenue opposite Walmart.
