WestJet's "snow to sand" service is ready to take flight this Saturday.

That's when the first weekly non-stop trip of the winter leaves Prince George for Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at 10:45 a.m.

"Winter came in with a bang this year and those travellers looking for sun can do so quickly as of this weekend,? said Prince George Airport Authority chief executive officer John Gibson.

The service will continue through to April 27.

This is the fourth season WestJet has operated the service out of Prince George. Air Transat ran the service prior to that.
