A Prince George woman has had her vehicle impounded and was hit with a hefty ticket ($368 and three driver points) after being caught excessively speeding this morning (Oct. 23).

Cpl. Mike Halskov with RCMP "E" Division Traffic Services says an officer stopped the woman at around 7:30 a.m. on Giscome Road, just east of Prince George.

She was caught going just over 130 km/h in an 80 km/h zone in a 2009 Ford Mustang.

Halskov says depending on the driver's past driving history, the superintendent of motor vehicles may review the woman's licence, which could result in a further suspension of her licence.

Police are once again reminding drivers to obey speed limits to keep everyone on the road safe.

"Slowing down reduces the likelihood you will be injured or killed in a collision," Halskov says in an email to PrinceGeorgeMatters. "Certainly, it is not worth the fines, inconvenience of having your car impounded and possible licence suspension."
