Prince George fire rescue

In the early hours Sunday, Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire at the 1600-block Nicholson St.

Crews from four halls responded to the July 10 blaze at about 1:29 a.m. Upon arrival crews found heavy black smoke coming from a loading bay area of a building supply store.

They initiated a quick attack and kept the fire from spreading to the inside of the structure and then checked for extension and ventilated the structure.

There were no injuries to fire personnel or to the public but the damage is estimated at $5,000.
