Prince George RCMP have found an overdue fisherman whose family had not seen since April 12.

62-year-old Stanley Delong left his family home in Prince George at 8 a.m. on April 12 to go fishing on the Pelican Lake Forest Service Road but did not return.

His plan was to cross the Chilako River at the 42km mark and to fish at that location. His family said that Stanley is familiar with the area he was going to, and that he is usually home by dinnertime after a fishing trip.

“Frontline members located him early this morning. He is in good health despite having spent two nights in the cold. We would like thank our helicopter pilots and Prince George Search and Rescue for their help in this search,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper from the Prince George RCMP.

Police say they will not be providing any further updates.
