The 2025-26 school year has yet to begin, but School District 57’s board of education approved the calendar for the 2027-28 school year at its Tuesday, June 10 meeting.
The first day of school in 2027-28 will be Tuesday, Sept. 7.
The calendar includes non-instructional days on:
- Friday, Sept. 24, 2027
- Friday, Oct. 22, 2027
- Friday, Nov. 12, 2027
- Monday, Jan. 31, 2028
- Friday, April 27, 2028
- Monday, May 29, 2028
Holidays in the 2027-28 school year will include:
- Truth and Reconciliation Day on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2027
- Thanksgiving on Monday, Oct. 11, 2027
- Winter vacation from Monday, Dec. 20, 2027 through Monday, Jan. 3, 2028
- Family Day on Monday, Feb. 21, 2028
- Spring break from March 20 to 31, 2028
- Good Friday on Friday, April 14, 2028
- Easter Monday on Monday, April 17, 2028
- Victoria Day on Monday, May 22, 2028
The last day of school will be Thursday, June 29, 2028.
