One person has died following a Thursday afternoon crash on Highway 16 east of Purden Lake.
According to Prince George Regional Highway Rescue Chief Keith Laboucan, a logging truck and a small car collided, trapping one person inside the car.
The five-person Highway Rescue crew removed the trapped victim, who suffered critical injuries.
"Unfortunately another individual was found outside of the vehicle deceased," said Laboucan. "Road conditions were extremely treacherous, with snow, ice and fog being contributing factors."
The highway was closed in both directions while police investigated.
