Ahh, the memories for summer camp!
Swimming in the lake, roasting smores over a fire, and making new friends.
If any of those reminisce with you, then you also know that some kids may not get the chance to experience the thrill of summer camp.
This is something Ness Lake Bible Camp wants to rectify with its annual Cans 4 Kids campaign taking place this weekend.
Organizers are asking the public to bring their empty cans, bottles, and other recyclables to the Nechako Bottle Depot on 1st Ave.
Every dollar raised will be put into a sponsorship fund to help send underprivileged kids to the camp located 35 km west of Prince George.
Last year, Ness Lake raised approximately $2,500 and spokesperson Melanie Read says they’d like to double the fundraising amount to $5,000.
Interested residents can drop off their donations between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday (June 1).
