It’s harvest time!
The Downtown Rotary Club of Prince George is getting ready to host its first Corn on the Street sale to help raise funds for school Breakfast Programs, scholarships and youth leadership programs.
The club is selling bags of Soda Creek Sweet Corn grown in Williams Lake at the Dunlevy Ranch, which is run by third-generation producers.
Dunlevy has been growing sweet corn since the 1980s and operate a popular 15-acre U-Pick Patch.
Now, the Downtown Rotarians are bringing some of that a-maize-ing corn up to Prince George for its inaugural fundraiser.
The event takes place on Saturday (Sept. 12) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Homesteader Meats parking lot (556 N. Nechako Rd.).
You can also order bags of corn online, pre-pay and then pick-up or just purchase the corn on site.
It’s $14 each for a bag of a dozen.
Homesteader Meats will also have tickets available for its raffle for a $1,000 gift card.
Tickets are $20 each and the draw date is set for Nov. 21 at 3 p.m.
