A local nurse could be up for a major award for heroism for saving the life of a man who was stabbed during a bizarre altercation with a cab driver in downtown Prince George nearly three years ago.

A local nurse could be up for a major award for heroism for saving the life of a man who was stabbed during a bizarre altercation with a cab driver in downtown Prince George nearly three years ago.

Kurt Lawton was near the end of a shift at the needle exchange at the corner of Third and George on the night of May 13, 2008 when he heard a "great deal of yelling" and went out to see what was going on.
