The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another two new deaths in Northern Health over the past 24 hours.
The death toll for the region now stands at 287 since the pandemic was declared.
There has also been another 191 new cases reported for a total active case count of 1,155 in Northern Health.
Provincewide, B.C. is reporting 1,799 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 330,942 cases in the province.
However, the Ministry of Health noted today’s (Feb. 4) numbers of total and new cases are provisional due to a delayed data refresh and will be verified once confirmed.
There are currently 25,479 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, and 301,573 people who tested positive have recovered.
Of the active cases, 946 COVID-positive individuals are currently in hospital and 139 are in intensive care. The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
In the past 24 hours, including the two deaths in Northern Health the province has reported 19 new deaths for an overall total of 2,675.
From Jan. 27 to Feb. 2, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 24.9 per cent of cases and from Jan. 20 to Feb. 2 they accounted for 31.2 per cent of hospitalizations.
