If you get pulled over in northern B.C. by an 'Officer Parker' - he's a fake.

On Tuesday (Aug. 24), RCMP in the region were notified of an incident in which an unknown man pretended to be a police officer.

The suspect was initially observed in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on Alaska Avenue in Dawson Creek at approximately 12:30 a.m.

He was seen getting into his vehicle and followed the victim afterwards until she parked at an apartment building on Third Avenue.

The male was then viewed to exit his vehicle and approach the victim; while still in her vehicle, during which he identified himself as "Constable Parker" and informed that he was an RCMP officer.

The male directed that the victim provide her driver's license and registration.

The victim, recognizing that the male was not in a uniform nor carried anything which would identify him as a police officer, declined and instead informed that she was calling the police. The male then left the area.

The associated vehicle is described as an early 2000's dark-colored; possibly black or blue, crew-cab Chevy pickup with a red slip tank in the back.

He's described as:

  • Young
  • 5'6" to 6'
  • Very slim
  • Red hair
  • Wearing...
    • Grey hoodie
    • Army green/camouflaged pants
    • Hat

He may have been drinking before the interaction as it is believed that he may have had alcohol on his breath.

Photos provided show the associated male talking to another unknown man whom may or may not have been present for the interaction.

Police are looking to identify either of the males in the released photos.
