No new COVID-19 cases reported in northern B.C. over the weekend

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Northern Health region over the weekend.
According to a statement issued by the B.C. Ministry of Health, there were 30 active cases of the disease in the north as of Monday. 
There was one person hospitalized with COVID-19 in critical care in the Northern Health region, according to data released by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control on Monday afternoon.
No new COVID-related deaths were reported in the province over the weekend, leaving B.C.’s death toll from the pandemic at 1,760 – including 157 people from the Northern Health region.
Across the province, there were 123 new cases reported between Friday and Monday. There were 658 active cases of COVID-19 on Monday in B.C., and 66 people were hospitalized with the disease (including 14 in critical care).
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 148,154 cases of COVID-19 in the province, of which 145,722 have recovered. In the Northern Health region there have been 7,803 cases of COVID-19 since January 2020, of which 7,616 have recovered.
As of Monday, 78.8 per cent of all eligible people (aged 12 and up) in B.C. have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 44.6 per cent are fully vaccinated. More than 5.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in B.C., including 260,538 in the Northern Health region.
