A tech CEO caught at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts with a woman who isn’t his wife has become the internet’s latest punching bag and Mr. PG is getting in on the action.
While performing at Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots, on Wednesday, July 16, a camera focused in on couples in the audience as Coldplay frontman Chris Martin saluted them.
However, after one couple was shown on screen, the man dove for cover while the woman hid her face.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin said in footage of the incident.
It turns out that the man was Andy Byron, CEO of tech company Astronomer, and Kristen Cabot, the company’s head of human resources.
On the morning of Friday, July 18, the City of Prince George’s Facebook page posted an edited image featuring the pair embracing, with Mr. PG’s head superimposed over Byron’s.
“Spotted at the Coldplay concert… can you blame her?” the post said.
While most of the responses expressed delight at the joke, a couple of posters were less than pleased.
“Tax dollars should absolutely NOT be spent on this garbage,” one poster said. “This is careless mismanagement of funds and is a slap in the face of taxpayers in PG, many of whom could be struggling. Shame on you!”
The city’s account responded that the image had only taken someone around five minutes to put together.
“Participating in trends increases our reach which means that more people in our community will see important messages and news from the city,” the City of PG account responded. “Have a great day!”
