A Prince George man was sentenced Wednesday to a conditional sentence of two years less a day and one year probation for possession of more than $5,000 in stolen property.
Jason Robert Fletcher, 28, was issued the term in Prince George provincial court after he was arrested on Oct. 31 when the Prince George RCMP crime reduction team executed a search warrant on a Kenworth Road East home.
Andrea Erika Johnson, 39, was also arrested and her case is scheduled to go to trial next month.
At the time of their arrests, RCMP said the two were apprehended six days after police received a report that a trailer holding more than $50,000 worth of tools was stolen from an enclosed area near the corner of Massey Drive and Ospika Boulevard.
The day before the arrests, the owner recovered the trailer in an area off Haldi Lake Road. It had been altered and prepped for painting at the time and the tools were not located, RCMP said.
About $40,000 worth of tools were found at the home where Fletcher and Johnson were arrested, according to RCMP.
A conditional sentence is served at home with conditions such as a curfew and a ban on alcohol. Fletcher's sentence also applies to a conviction for possession of stolen property from an Oct. 1 incident.
And he was sentenced to 60 days time served, fined $500 plus a $150 victim surcharge and is prohibited from driving for one year for driving while prohibited from a Sept. 3 incident.
