The Industry Training Authority (ITA) is beckoning to women to join the ranks of trades and technologies professionals.
Women already in the trades, and employers who have tradeswomen on staff are asked to come give their views and suggestions to the province. A forum is being held this month to gather that input.
"Join the ITA for a conversation about the opportunities, challenges and strategies for success for both women in the trades and those who employ them," said a written statement from Initiatives Prince George, one of the event's proponents.
"This event will be an opportunity for local tradeswomen and employers to engage in a conversation about the current status of women in the trades in northern B.C. as well as what can be done to support women in the trades in the future."
The College of New Caledonia is a partner in the event and is hosting the forum. It happens Oct. 23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. It is one of a number of similar forums being held in B.C. by the ITA.
