Prince George's holiday safe-ride service is gearing up for its second weekend of the 2017 holiday season.

As many as 19 Operation Red Nose road teams will be working throughout this weekend to take revellers home during the busy Christmas party season. Residents can call (250) 962-7433 between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. this Friday and Saturday for a free ride home. Donations for these drives will benefit local charities and community groups.

Organizers expect to give between 120 and 200 rides over the course of this weekend.

"A reminder for those who do plan to call us for a safe ride home is to ensure their motor vehicle insurance is up to date," Andrea Johnson, Operation Red Nose spokesperson, said.

"If they do have expired decals on their license plates, Operation Red Nose will not be driving their vehicle home and a cab will be called."

Operation Red Nose gave 156 rides over the course of last weekend, as well as four additional test rides to check their phone system.
