Confusion swirls still as some people aren't sure how, if at all, the HST will impact their lives. Groceries are an issue because everybody needs to eat.
HST will be applied to any item not considered a "basic grocery," as determined by the Canada Revenue Agency. As a general rule, if a product is processed in any way, taxes are applicable.
