Is there someone in your family that requests pizza for dinner every night?
Is your little one, teenager, or spouse not eating their vegetables?
Does your diet contain lots of sugary drinks, chips, sour candies, and chocolate M&Ms? As tempting as that is.
If you said ‘yes’ to any of the above questions, you may want to check out a free seminar this week at the Prince George Public Library (PGPL).
Registered Dietitian Beth Oehler, based in Prince George with Branco Nutrition, is giving a presentation for parents and caregivers on how to prepare proper meals for picky eaters, and how to ease the stress of planning them.
“Sometimes parents or caregivers can feel frustrated by selective eating,” said Oehler in a news release. “I will share thoughts along the theme of Nutrition Month: unlocking the potential of food to fuel our families, encouraging adventurous eating discoveries, and bringing us together for calm mealtimes.”
She will provide those tips and tricks of the trade at the free talk on Thursday (March 14) at the PGPL from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
March is also National Nutrition Awareness Month, a campaign that tabled 30 years ago by the Dietitians of Canada.
Oehler is a member of that national organization, earned a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University specializing in Food and Nutrition Science, and, prior to calling Prince George home, she practiced in countries like Ukraine, Russia, and Scotland.
