A weekend event to help a local woman raised $11,710.
Margaret and Chris Camilli hosted a dinner, dance and silent auction to raise money for their neighbour, Dorothy Horton, at the Treasure Cove Casino on Saturday.
Horton has breast cancer and her daughter is in hospice in Calgary with a life-threatening tumour on her brain stem. To support her daughter emotionally, Horton visits often, but the stress has taken a financial toll on her.
"Thank you to all the wonderful people who have supported Dorothy," Margaret Camilli said. "It's meant the world to us to be able to help her like this."
