In case you’ve forgotten, this Sunday (June 16) is Father’s Day.
This is the day where dads are told how much they’re appreciated, the chance to watch golf on television (it’s the U.S. Open, so maybe), and for kids to give ‘practical’ gifts.
In Prince George, there are a number of events happening this weekend for families to enjoy and spend time with their father and we’ve selected five of them to possibly check out.
Don’t worry, dad! You’re not going to need duct tape for any of these.
CLASSIC CARS SHOW AND SHINE
The 45th annual Show and Shine will be on display in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park on Sunday and will have some dads relive the glory days.
Vintage cars, bikes, and trucks will be lined up for showing and admiring from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., hosted by the Prince George Cruisin’ Classics Club.
Meet and greets are taking place at the Tim Horton’s location on Ferry Ave. at 7 a.m. prior to the show.
PREDATOR PAINTBALL
If your dad likes to shoot and beat their son at any sport possible, Central Interior Airsoft is hosting some events at Predator Paintball.
On Sunday, there will also be a father/son team competition before the ‘grudge-match’ later on, pinning the fathers in attendance against the sons (prepare for a real paint bath).
The games begin at 10:30 a.m.; players must register as early as 10 a.m.
The 200-foot firing range will also be open all day for dads to practice their target shooting.

FATHER’S DAY RAILWAY BREAKFAST
If your dad has a niche for trains, then this event is perfect for him!
The Central B.C. Railway and Forestry Museum is setting the table for a special Father’s Day breakfast Sunday morning.
Friends and family can come to the museum and enjoy a warm meal, by donation, from 8 to 10 a.m. before catching the Cottonwood Minitrain and taking a tour of the eight-acre park.
Train rides will cost an additional $3.
DADDY AND ME HIGH TEA
Does your dad enjoy tea and coffee?
The Pine Centre Mall is hosting a Daddy and Me High Tea tomorrow afternoon (June 15), all complimentary.
Food will be served as well when the event takes place from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and there’s even a chance to win a High Tea prize pack worth over $650.
Costumes and/or fancy outfits of the whimsical nature are strongly encouraged!

FATHER’S DAY BRUNCH
Dads love a hot meal, especially when its mid-day and they’ve missed breakfast (we think).
An all-you-can-eat father’s day brunch will be served at Cornerstone Kitchen and Lounge in the Ramada Plaza Prince George on Sunday for those dads that like a little bit of everything on their plates.
The brunch goes from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; it’ll cost $24.99 fo adults, $21.99 for seniors, $14.999 for kids aged five to 12, and free for children under four years old.
Cornerstone will also be donating $2 from every brunch sold on Sunday to the local branch of te Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
So, dad can know he’s eating for the goodness of others (the dream perhaps?)
