For all you Prince George movie buffs out there, this list is for you!
The 91st annual Academy Awards take place this weekend, honouring achievement in film and motion picture science from the past year, and the list does not appear to disappoint in term of originality.
Close to 20 movies have received at least two nominations and it’ll be a little weird with no official host this year, but we’ll have to wait and see how the producers of the show decide to move forward.
The Sunday showcase starts at 5 p.m. Pacific time.
Before the lights go up in the Dolby Theatre, here are five films to consider viewing that could capture your interest and showcase the variety of stories Hollywood has told the world.

A STAR IS BORN
Starring Bradley Cooper in his directorial debut with Lady Gaga, this drama tells the story of an alcohol-influenced country star and his journey while after falling in love with a young aspiring musician.
The romantic musical has been nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Actress, and Best Original Song.
BLACK PANTHER
Following the death of his father, the prince and protector of a hidden (fictional) African nation faces challenges of hypocrisy and leadership, especially when faced by a blood relative who wants to lead a global revolution.
This is the first superhero film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to receive a Best Picture nod, seven in total; cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett.
Black Panther is the highest grossing film among the Best Picture nominees at $700.1 million.
BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
A deep, personal look at one of the most influential rock groups of a generation, this movie follows Freddie Mercury’s story both in the studio, on stage, and behind the curtain.
Rami Malek, who plays the lead singer of Queen, has already won the Golden Globe for Best Actor and is up for the Oscar in the same category, while the film itself is shortlisted for four other awards, including Best Picture.
THE FAVOURITE
It’s 18th century England, and the country’s monarch is getting old, so her best friend decides to help rule the country, but a charming young servant suddenly gets in the way.
This movie is projected to win multiple awards as is tied with the most nominations with 10, including Best Picture, Best Actress, two for Best Supporting Actress, and Best Original Screenplay.
ROMA
Based in the hustle and bustle of 1970s Mexico, the life of a middle-class family maid is portrayed and the ups and downs of a strained marriage.
It’s directed by Alfonso Cuaron, who also won the Best Director Oscar in 2013 for Gravity; it’s said the film is loosely based on his Mexican upbringing.
This is also the first Netflix original film to be up for Best Picture and is tied with The Favourite for the most with 10 nominations, which also includes Best Actress, Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Original Screenplay.
