The job of a first responder, undoubtedly, can have an impact on someone’s mental health, especially if an experience leaves a traumatic effect.

Organized by the BC First Responders’ Mental Health Committee, a workshop is set to take place in Prince George tomorrow (Oct. 30) with local first responder groups, teaching them how to create positive mental health.

This includes the RCMP and fire detachments, corrections, Emergency Health Services and BC Wildfire Service, all will cover recommended practices of mental health and resilience in the workplace.

The one-day event is meant to be interactive, so the Committee is asking those who attend to participate as much as they can so they be immersed in the movement of increasing mental health awareness in the workplace and in yourself.

The Prince George session will take place at the Courtyard Marriott hotel tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There is a limit of 72 seats and tickets are still available at $375 each, which includes all meals and a reception.

You can go to the BC First Responders’ Mental Health Committee website for more information.
