Fire damages Lower Patricia encampment

Prince George fire fighters were called to a fire near the Lower Patricia encampment, named Moccasin Flats by residents, on Sunday.

Fire fighters were called to the scene at 2:14 p.m. on Sunday, according to information released by the City of Prince George. Fire crews found a single-room structure on fire near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Ottawa Street, at the west side of the encampment.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire, which caused an estimated $1,500 in damage.

No one was injured in the fire, and the cause was under investigation as of Monday.
