Prince George fire fighters will be conducting live flame exercises in the BCR Site area this weekend.

If you see large jets of bright flames coming from near the BCR site this weekend, it’s probably nothing to worry about.
Fire fighters from Prince George and the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George will be conducting training exercises on how to combat liquid propane fires on Saturday and Sunday, according to a statement issued by the city. Large propane burners will be used to simulate a propane fire.
The training is being conducted along with teams from CN Rail and Emergency Response Assistance Canada, a non-profit emergency preparedness and response organization. They are bringing the training simulator to Prince George by railcar.
Prince George is a major crossroads for railway container traffic, including tanker cars carrying liquid propane.
