If your winter tires aren't on your vehicle yet, you may have to think twice about heading north of Prince George today (Oct. 25).

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Pine Pass area, predicting 10 to 15 cm.

The snowfall could stop by late this morning as a low-pressure system continues to make its way along Highway 97 north and into Alberta.

Commuters are asked to adjust driving habits with changing road conditions and rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations.

Weather in the mountains can also change suddenly resulting in dangerous driving conditions.

Winds are also blowing through Prince George right now and Environment Canada says the current 60 km/h gusts could get up to 80.

This has caused a power outage near the Bednesti area of the city, leaving over 450 BC Hydro customers in the dark as of 7:18 a.m.

Crews are expected to arrive before 9:30 a.m.
