There's still a risk of frostbite if you stay outside too long

After two days of low temperatures reaching into the -30 C to -40 C range, the extremely cold air is expected to dissipate.

As of 11 a.m. this morning, Environment Canada has lifted its extreme cold warning for Prince George and its surrounding areas.

It took effect on Saturday morning (Feb. 2), but the agency is forecasting temperatures to reach as high as -11 C by Thursday (Feb. 7).

The risk of frostbite is still imminent, however, so residents are being asked to bundle up if you absolutely need to be outside.

Winds will also die down to about 15 km/h tonight.

If you plan on driving on Highway 97 north today, an extreme cold warning remains in effect for the Pine Pass and the Peace River regions.
