Don't forget the 82nd annual Elks May Day parade on Saturday. Starting at 11 a.m. at the Coliseum, the procession of floats, group displays and musical entries will proceed west down Seventh Avenue and pass through the Civic Centre Plaza and Ninth Avenue. It will turn right onto Victoria Street and proceed north to Third Avenue, and east to George Street back to the Coliseum.
Festivities following at city hall include May Day greetings by the Elks and the annual Royal Purple crowning of the 53rd annual May Queen from among candidates representing elementary schools. The names of the winning queen and two princesses are drawn from a hat.
