There will be a few new faces in the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George boardroom when the group convenes for a new four-year term on Dec. 18.

Six out of the seven incumbent electoral area directors were returned to their posts, but changes in leadership in Prince George, McBride, Mackenzie and Valemount will bring new representatives to the board of directors.

According to unofficial results, electoral Area F (Willow River-Upper Fraser) director Kevin Dunphy held on to his seat with 166 votes after being challenged by Faellen Brandner, who earned 90 votes.

Incumbent electoral area H (Robson Valley-Canoe) director Ken Starchuck, who faced two challengers in Dannielle Alan and Bryan Munroe, was not as successful. Alan, general manager of the Robson Valley Visitors Centre who serves as president of the McBride and District Chamber of Commerce, earned 191 votes - 62 more than Starchuck.

Alan said she was humbled and grateful for the support she received.

"This is an great opportunity to work with some amazing people and help keep our community vital," Alan said, noting Starchuk's contribution and that she wanted to continue the legacy of doing good work.

"I'm looking forward to getting out and being involved in all the various communities in area H," Alan said. "So they can expect to see me, my door's always open and I look forward to working with everybody in the Valley."

Incumbent electoral area A (Salmon River-Lakes) director Warren Wilson, electoral erea C (Chilako River-Nechako) director Lara Beckett, electoral area D (Tabor Lake-Stone Creek) director Bill Empey, electoral area E (Woodpecker-Hixon) director Art Kaehn and electoral area G (Crooked River-Parsnip) director Terry Burgess were all acclaimed to their positions.

The regional district's four member municipalities all elected new mayors on Nov. 15.

Both Prince George mayor Shari Green and Mackenzie mayor Stephanie Killam did not run for re-election. The P.G. seat was won by Lyn Hall. Pat Crook will succeed Killam, taking 70 per cent of the Mackenzie mayoral vote over opponents Daniel Hansen and Danny O'Connor.

McBride incumbent Mike Frazier was defeated by challenger Loranne Martin, who grabbed nearly 62 per cent of the vote.

And in Valemount, incumbent Andru McCracken was unseated by a familiar face. Jeanette Townsend regained the mayor's chain of office, six years after stepping down from the role that she held for six terms. Village voters welcomed Townsend back with 59 per cent of the mayoral vote.

Also elected in the regional district, according to unofficial results, were four members of the Bear Lake Community Commission: Valerie Franklin, Patrick McGee, Ton Van der Ploeg and Wayne Rose.
