Just when you thought the dust had settled in Prince George, more decided to come back.

A mere seven hours after an initial statement had ended at 7:40 a.m. today (April 1), Environment Canada has re-posted the city's dust advisory.

According to B.C. air quality meteorologists, concentrations of fine particulate matter are slightly above normal once again.

The numbers read 50.2 micrograms-per-cubic-metre for Prince George and 73.4 for Burns Lake if you're travelling that direction in the next few days.

Northern Health is encouraging residents once again to avoid outdoor exercise as it could lead to eye or throat irritation, chest discomfort, shortness of breath, coughing, or wheezing.

Children and teenagers, including those with asthma or lung issues, seniors, and those with chronic conditions are advised to stay inside in an air-conditioned room until the statement is over.

During this time, the City of Prince George's Clean Air Bylaw takes effect, prohibiting all open burning, including back-yard burning, and land clearing burning.

Street sweeping is scheduled to begin today.

Meteorologists are also encouraging everyone to avoid driving in high traffic areas so the dust doesn't build up.
