Beware the bat when you're outside this spring and summer.
That's the advice the B.C. Centre for Disease Control is issuing as the warm weather means more people will be venturing outside and risk being bitten by the animal.
Although rabies can be contracted from a wide range of wild animals - such as skunks, foxes, raccoons and coyotes - bats are the only known carrier of the disease in B.C.
