UPDATE: Highway 16 west of Prince George now single-lane after vehicle crash

Highway 16 is single-lane alternating traffic west of Prince George this afternoon (Feb. 4).

This is due to a vehicle incident that took place this morning near Dahl Lake Road in the Bednesti area.

Drive B.C's next update is set for 1 p.m.

We'll have more information once it becomes available.

10:15 a.m.

A vehicle incident has closed Highway 16 in both directions near Bednesti this morning.

Weather conditions likely played a factor, but there's been no official confirmation at this time.

As a result, the highway west of Prince George at Dahl Lake Road is completely closed at this hour and an assessment is in progress by traffic crews.

Drive B.C. says its next update will be around 10:45 a.m.

Commuters are being asked to slow down and drive to the road conditions as a snowfall warning is in effect for Prince George, the Pine Pass, Stuart-Nechako and the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
